Iceland and Greenland Cruises

Explore Greenland's remote, mythical coasts on a small ship expedition cruise from Iceland, or choose an icebreaker cruise for the ultimate in exploration.

Introduction To Iceland & Greenland Cruises

Iceland and Greenland's cruises offer the perfect opportunity to explore two captivating destinations on the same expedition cruise, from Iceland's remote volcanic shores to Greenland's breathtaking mountains and seldom-visited fjords that stretch into eternity.

Iceland is the perfect embarkation point for small ship expedition cruises to explore the rugged East Coast of Greenland. A 2 day sailing from Reykjavik is the world's longest natural fjord system, Scoresby Sund, located above the Arctic Circle with some of Earth's most outstanding natural scenery.

For travellers looking for the ultimate in exploration, consider an icebreaker cruise from Iceland to Greenland during the spring and early summer months to encounter the unexplored sea ice.

When To Go On An Iceland and Greenland Cruise

Iceland and Greenland cruises operate during the late spring, summer and early autumn between March and early October.

Iceland and Greenland icebreaker cruises take place between March and July, with sailings on luxury icebreaker Le Commandant Charcot to explore Disko Bay in west Greenland and the remote coastline of East Greenland when it is completely locked by sea ice from the winter months. In July, the Ship sails north to Svalbard and the North Pole.

Iceland and Greenland cruises on expedition cruise ships occur between July and October, when the region is relatively free of sea ice. Small ship expeditions to reach the Northeast Greenland National Park, Scoresby Sund, and the Westfjords occur between August and early October, offering ships the best months for ice-free navigation. Cruises in September and October offer the best months to encounter the Northern lights as the darkness returns to the Arctic skies.
